aquaphor

if you are or have been using aquaphor (eucerin) for cradle cap how and how much did you use? I have some of the lotion at home and would like to try and see if it helps. tia

Re: aquaphor

  • I love Aquaphor but I didn't use it for cradle cap.  DD has long hair (for her age) and I just couldn't see that working very well.  I used olive oil instead.  I let that soak into her scalp for about 15 minutes and it really loosened up the flakes, it worked really well.

  • I've used it and it's pretty nasty. Be prepared to wash with shampoo a good 4-5 times to get it out. It did help though- but I prefer baby oil instead. GL :)
  • Don't waste your time. Aquaphor is great for dry skin btu it didn't do anything for DS's cradle cap. It just made his hair a greasy mess for about a week.
  • I just used Selsun Dandruff Shampoo on DS 2 nights ago and it got rid of about 90% of the cradle cap.  I had initially lathered his head with lotion (Aveeno Baby) and let it sit for about 6 hours and then I rubbed his head vigorously with the rough side of a baby wash cloth with the shampoo for about 10 mins.

  • Be careful with dandruf shampoo though it made DS's skin so rough and dry.

That's what I figured so I guess I will stick with the baby oil - didn't work great but it helped some...
