Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Anyone completely not ready for number 2?

Honestly DH and I both want three kids but for the time being I am savoring have one soon to be toddler. ?We have our schedule, she is more independent, and I finally have my body back after the pregnancy and almost eight month of breast feeding. ?We will probably TTC early next year but I am not looking forward to it. ?We went to a friend's how last night and they have two month old, all I could think of was thank g-d DD is past the tiny baby phase. ?Does anyone feel like me or I am completely alone?

Me! My brother and his wife just had their 3rd - I went to visit and my first thought was "glad it's not me with a newborn!"
  • Not even close to being ready.

  • I am tooootally in the same boat.  We will not TTC until 2010, but it seems like a lot of others are rushing around.  I didn't get my body back until just recently and I have no desire to experience sleep deprivation again anytime soon.  DS woke up every 2 hours from the time he was born until he was 5 months and we did ferber.  That and I am enjoying my wine and caffeine!

  • I know we are definitely planning on at least two (I want three though), but yeah I'm nowhere near ready! I sometimes miss the little newborn phase, but I'd freak out majorly if I'd gotten knocked up now. We're waiting till Sasha is 3 or 4 to TTC.
  • Same here. Every single one of my girlfriends IRL is pregnant (all 7 of them) and I'm soooo happy I'm not on the train right now! My baby fever comes and goes but realistically thinking, I know DH and I both want to wait a few more years.
  • Not even close to being ready!  Still breastfeeding, not sleeping thru the night, and very high-maintenance.  I wonder if those that are ready have easy babies?!

  • The older and older that DD gets, the more I'm OK with just having one child for now.  I'm really enjoying this phase of her life, I finally have my pre-PG body back, we've established a good routine with her, plus we can really only afford one right now.  When she was only a few months old, I had baby fever something fierce, but as time goes on, that fever is getting to be less and less.  Maybe in a few years.
  • This is funny to me, because all of the reasons you ladies have stated for NOT being ready, are why I'm hoping I'm ku right now.  I know we're only having two, and I really want to just go for it.  DS gets easier and easier all the time, and I know if we go too much longer, there's no way I'll start over again!  But that's just me, that's how I am with most things in life.

  • We didnt want our kids closer together than about 2.5 years. So at 11.5 months, yeah, I was NOT ready to get pregnant again! Obviously, it's all about what works for each family, but I cannot imagine having two under two.

I think I have a pretty easy and mellow baby and we're nowhere near ready yet.  A friend who had a baby 2 weeks after us is PG again, due when her first is 13 months. I would be sick if that were us!

  • Me!  Although I do miss the cuddles I also remember how much work it was and with how much work he is now, I can't imagine it.  Sometimes I wonder if I will ever be ready for #2 but I am sure it will come once DS gets a little more independant.
  • I often miss my newborn, I miss being pg and I do have a case of baby fever but when it really comes down to it I am so NOT ready for #2.  We can't afford it, and I don't think I could mentally handle it.  I love watching her grow up but the older she gets the easier my life gets and I am so not ready to start over.  If we have another one it will be at least 3 years from now (probably more like 4-6)
  • We want 3 too but I'm no where near ready to do it again.  I'm just starting to like the way I look.

  • Me. ?I LOVE having my boy and focusing all my attention on him, getting to know him, taking him everywhere with little hassle. ?I love being back in my pre-pg clothes again and I hated being pregnant.

I'm not entirely sold on even having another one. ?I'm sure I'll come around but I have such an easy, cool kid that I fear I'm due for a tough one next go around.?
