How did you introduce formula to LO?

I'm EBF right now, but we'll probably supplement that with formula once I go back to work in a few weeks. How did you guys introduce your LO to formula (how many bottles a day, how much, etc.)? We tried a bottle or two of formula a few days after DS was born, but he reacted badly (vomited everything up), so we've been gun-shy ever since. I know it's harmless stuff, I'm just curious how to introduce it more gently. TIA!

    You are supposed to make their bottles 50% BM and 50% Formula until they get used to it.

    i havent started this yet but i plan to within the next few weeks. my friends who have been through it started by giving their lo one bottle a day. for the first few days it was 3oz bm and 1oz formula. after their lo had taken that successfully they increased it to half and half for a few days. then 3oz formula 1oz bm. etc. once their lo was drinking one bottle a day of all formula they began giving more formula bottles each day. hth

    I never thought about it...I gave a full bottle of formula with no problem (no mix).  One kind he would not take the 2nd time I tried to give it to him, so we tried another kind (thank goodness for samples).

    Oh, and he only gets formula on occassion--like when I need a break and don't have extra pumped BM available.
