My OB doesn't require me to complete kick counts. Yesterday and today my LO seems to be less active. I just did a kick count and it took him way less than an hour to make 10 movements- is this the correct way to make sure everything is good with him? I feel like I am causing myself anxiety (I have an anxiety disorder, so it comes pretty easily) with this and just want advice from those who have been told to do kick counts. TIA!
Re: s/o counting fetal movement- ?
Hi EG. I still love your siggy pic.
According to my OB I should feel her move every 4 hours. If I don't, I'm told to drink something sweet and get her moving. As for kick/movement counts, she told me to try to figure out her most active time and do the counts then (so not every hour). I wait until around 7 and lay flat on the bed. 5 minutes later, she's reached her 10 kicks/movements.
i was told i should feel at least 10 kicks/movements within 2 hours- but i am also not as far along as you...
they wanted me to start at wk 28- i havent done it yet since i feel her constantly and am not worried- but i guess i should do it one day for a baseline- dont want them asking me later what it used to be if something should happen haha...
i have a nonstress test coming up too...
but now when i went to L&D they told me to just lay down and count them twice a day- and call them if i didnt feel at least 10 kicks during that hour..
so idk...i guess it depends on the practice or doc
