DH is telling MIL right now

I'm nervous. I told him I do not want to be there because she's had negative reactions with both previous pregnancies, thus causing a lot of hurt and adding to the problems we already have with her, so I'm just waiting for him to call and tell me how it went. I hope it doesn't take his whole lunch break because then I'll have to wait till he gets home from work!

The first one was because she wasn't ready, second because it was too soon after the first (and trust me, we were avoiding but got a birth control baby), and now she thinks we don't need more because we have the perfect family witha boy and a girl.

Pretty much. She comes off as very giving to others, but with us it's totally different. Anytime we try to confront her on any issue, she plays the victim card and uses her divorce saying it's been so hard the last five years. Everything is about her and how "hard" her life has been. And apparently we just make it harder because we don't let her run our lives like everyone else in the family does. It has caused a lot of tension in the family because we set boundaries and don't let her do whatever she wants with us and we stand our ground. Most of DH's family doesn't like me much because they think it's my fault.

This whole thing is ridiculous, but that last part is even crazier. Who is she to decide how many children you want to have? WOW. That's insane. My MIL wants us to have 4 or 5 kids and while we probably won't have more than 3, she knows that she doesn't get any say. I can't believe your MIL. I'm so sorry! She should be excited to be getting another grandchild. ?
