  • Thanks Dear!

I know that sometimes parents get in a rut and feed their kids the SAME thing everyday, lol.. for WEEKS, all the kids parents at the daycare would send in grilled cheese for their kiddos for lunch.. everyday! the kids loved em, don't get me wrong.. but all the teachers would make a bet everyday.. "I bet so and so has grilled cheese.. AGAIN!" LOL

so.. variety is/can be important Smile

  • That is so sweet of you :)

FWIW, Walmart (and I'm sure a lot of other stores) carries Earth's Best Organic Applesauce and it's cheaper (or is here) than Motts :)

    DD also LOVES multi-grain cheerios.

I'm guilty of this too, to be honest.  I need to branch out a bit!!
When I was working at a school, one of our students always had pb&j, chips and milk.  It never failed.  We were always shocked and had to talk about it if it ever varied at all...

  • That's a great list!  It's hard for me to remember exactly what DS ate when.  Now he eats pretty much everything we eat.  We get the bags of frozen organic veggies (peas, carrots, green beans, edamame, tri color peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms) and heat up small portions for DS for with dinner.  Strangely enough, the kid even likes salad!  We shred the lettuce pretty small and put some grape tomatoes (cut into 1/8ths) then mix in a little dressing.  DS has been eating tomato products for a while, so I guess I'd tell your friend to try a little and see if her DS has a reaction.  DS LOVES the frozen tortellini with tomato sauce.  Some of DS's other favorites:

    - meatballs

    - prunes (cut into tiny pieces), mango, grapes

    - shredded cheese

    - not organic at all, but DS loves the Gerber yogurt drop snacks

The yellowing skin makes me wonder...do they think it's jaundice or maybe that he's eating too much orange baby food (carrots, sweet potatoes...)?

I thought possibly jaundice at first.. but it could be from too much orange baby food.. the pedi just said "lack of nutrition" - sounds scary!!!! she nurses him but he does not like to drink at all.. she's tried water, juice, etc.. he'd rather eat food!!! and he's at a decent weight.. so.. hopefully she will have luck with the finger foods! and good call on the meatballs Smile I will add it to the list - thanks!!!
