1st Trimester

Curious at 9 weeks....

This may be because I'm a first time mom and just very nervous that everything is still ok with my baby, but I'm 9 weeks now and for the last 3 days I've finally felt great - no m/s, very little "round ligament pain", starting to get a little energy back, etc.  Not that I'm complaining at all because it's nice to feel human again, but just wondered if anyone else has had the same experience around this time?

My next appt. isn't until June 9 and it won't be an u/s so I'm going to beg them to at least see if we can hear the heartbeat so I know the baby is still ok.  I know worrying is not good for the baby so I try not to freak out - but it's tough since this is my first.

  • I would think they would at least try the doppler at the 6/9 appt. you'll be 12 wks then.

  • I'm the same way!  All my symptoms are gone, with the exception of being moody!! :) I feel completly normal now.  I was kinda freaking out so I ordered a doppler to be able to hear the Heart beat!  It should be here today!  My found it pretty easily at 9 1/2 weeks on their doppler at the office so I'm hoping it will be easy to find again!  also DH hasn't heard the HB yet so it will be exciting for him to be able to hear it!  Try not to freak out!!!
  • I think it's pretty normal.  I started to feel much better around 9 weeks and this week, even better.  It's hard not to be worried, this is my first too, but I think it's normal to start feeling better closer to the second trimester.

  • I'm feeling the same way right now. My next appointment is 6/15. My Dr said we'd listen to the heartbeat for sure.

     Yes, yes, yes.

My next appointment is June 9th as well and I am also 9 weeks 2 days.  Huh.

Silly question but if you are not getting an u/s or they are not using the doppler, what is the appointment for then?

  • 1. So far both of my pg's have been basically symptom free.  You may just be a lucky person who doesn't experience many symptoms for very long.

    2. You will be 12wk(?) at your next appt?  They should check for the heartbeat with a doppler.  You can call the office and find out and then you'll know for sure.  For my appointments they check vitals to include weight, listen to the heartbeat, and check the fundal height.

  • I'm at 12 weeks and I feel like you  - I want to know what's going on and starting to worry because I dont have m/s, boobs arent as sore, and I'm not as tired.  Makes me think something is wrong.
  • I'll be 9 weeks on Saturday, and I just started feeling a little better this week.  I'm still tired, but I haven't needed an afternoon nap lately.  My m/s is gone, just a little nauseated here and there.  I'm trying not to worry at all and just enjoy feeling better each day.  It's hard though!

I'm having the exact same stuff going on with me. I've felt fine since Monday and have been worried sick about it! Isn't that funny? We wish like heck that the MS, sore boobs, etc would go away and when it does we worry like crazy that something is wrong. I go next week for my 10 week appointment and I'll be sure to post if everything is fine with me and little buddy.
  • I'm going through the same thing today. I am 8w 5d and today I woke up with no symptoms, which is unusual. My m/s has been horrible the last few days and now....nothing. I was actually poking at my boobs this morning and it didn't hurt. I'm not cramping / bleeding, so I'm assuming everything is fine, but trying not to worry is not as easy as it sounds. I don't have another appointment until 6/12, but have been contemplating purchasing a doppler. I think it would help put my mind at ease.
  • I started feeling great at 9w and have pretty much stayed that way since (a few things here and there) so its totally normal.  I totally understand the odd sense of comfort all the symptoms have - I've been using my doppler every few days just for peace of mind!

  • I was just like you ladies at 10 weeks when all of a sudden I started to feel muchhhhhhh better.  I never had m/s but i did have severe food aversions and was sooo tired and moody.  That all went aways.  I had my 2nd checkup yesterday and the baby was happy as a clam.  The doctor said that is totally normal, and nothing to worry about.  Especially if you have heard the heartbeat already...even more so if you heard it around 8 weeks.  Either way....take it easy and just know even when u don't feel anything and are feeling better its still in there growning and swimming around :)
  • I felt great up to week 7-8 until I started feeling nauseous. Then week 9 was symptmom free, I felt great other than being tired. This week has been hellish. Monday a threw up before I got on a plane, Tuesday I threw up my entire breakfast, Wednesday was ok, today I started to gag here at my desk and ended up spilling all of my breakfast out again. So, enjoy this week. You never know what's lurking the next.
  • The only real symptom I've felt is exhaustion from about week 6 to week 8.  I'm now in the 9th week and aside from moderately sore boobs, totally feel like myself again!  (but I can't help but feel a little worried too, so I can relate!)
