How long do you let them fuss before going to get LO?

I am trying to get Ben to nap and sleep in his PNP rather than on me or in the bed - I laid him in it 15 minutes ago fully asleep, and the last 5 minutes he has been grunting and fussing.  No crying yet though.

So, do I wait for him to start crying, or what?  If he doesnt put himself back to sleep do I go get him after so long?

HELP! lol.

  • at that age - probably not more than 5 minutes.  I would just be happy he was sleeping - whether it was in the PNP or the sofa or wherever.

  • If she is just fussing and grunting, and not crying, I'll let her go for a few minutes (5-10) unless I think there is something I can do to stop it without keeping her from napping (for instance, if she dropped her pacifier).
  • If I know she's full, clean & fully burped I let mine fuss (not cry) for about 5mins or so, if it sounds like a real cry then I go to her straight away.  If its tired fussing then I see if she'll go back to sleep by herself first.

  • I will let him fuss around 20 minutes or so.  I don't get him until he starts crying.  Usually he fusses right before falling back asleep...he tries to fight it=)
  • Does he fuss and fall aleep for a few minutes and do that for a little bit?  Rory will usually do that a few times before he actually falls asleep=)

Not usually, but last night he found his fingers and sucked on them until he fell back asleep.  No dice today though.
