I bought some stuff to make beef stew and pulled pork in the slow cooker and I was going to make and freeze them but then I thought, does that make sense? Should I just freeze the meats?
I always make a double batch of pulled pork/BBQ beef when I make it and freeze the extra. That way it's an easy "oh crap we have nothing for dinner" dinner. Just take it out and microwave it.
The beauty of a slow-cooker is that it requires no prep and hands-on time...I, personally, would just freeze the meat and throw together the stew and pulled pork the morning of the days you want to eat them. It will taste more fresh that way. Although making it in the slow cooker now and then freezing it would certainly work just fine, too!
Re: Make meals in slow cooker then freeze?
Makes sense to me! We always freeze the extra food from our slow cooker since it makes. so. much.
Chili and 15 bean soup are two others that also freeze well.
