I know this has got to be too good to be true, but DD#2 is already STTN!!! It probably won't last, but just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat and if it actually lasted? DD#1 was an AWFUL sleeper, so maybe this is to make up for her?!
Sarah would stretch for 5 hours or so at a time when she was that age, but I had to wake her up to feed her because her weight gain was slow. I was told to wake them to eat until they regain their birth weight.

Lucky you! I don't think 9 days outside of the womb can really tell you if she'll STTN with any consistency (and if anyone else says theirs did, it is more likely a fluke than info to go by) but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
I think Will would if we would let him, but we still wake him up for feedings. The Pedi allowed one 6 hour stint overnight, so that's what we do now. It takes forever to wake him up! As the Pedi said, it's not a bad problem to have.

Oh and FWIW if baby has not regained birth weight you need to feed every 2 hours for the first 2 weeks. Excess sleeping can be a sign of lethargy and or dehydration in newborns.
Ethan did a couple times and I felt horrible b/c I was supposed to feed him every 2-3 hours so he could gain back the weight. He wasn't concerned about eating the first week.
DD was doing 6 hours from about 1w. The past 2w she has been sleeping from about 10-7 and it is heaven!! (She is well above birth weight so pedi is fine with it.)
mine started at 3 weeks (by accident - nobody woke up at 2/230 for feeding including DD) and has been the same ever since. she goes to bed about 10ish and wakes up between 5 and 6.
it is also a sympton of jaundice, which commonly develops within the first week at home. our LO developed jaundice while we were still in the hospital and we had to wake him up every 2 hours to eat day and night until he was cleared by the pedi. you may want to look for yellowing of his skin and whites of his eyes just in case. fwiw, even though we already knew he had jaundice we couldn't really tell our LO's skin was yellow in person. then we looked at a picture of him on our camera that we had just taken, and wow he was so yellow, I still can't believe we couldn't notice in person.
Re: Don't hate me, but anyone else's DC STTN at just 1 wk??
You lie.
I refuse to believe it.

My #2 was going 5-6 hour stretches and was STTN 11-7 at 4 weeks. By 12 weeks going 12-13 hours straight and never looked back.
I think it is because I did not get her at every peep like I did with #1.
