I know none of you are doctors i just want to hear what you guys got to say. I am going to ask my doc about this anyway..

So i was wondering after I have the baby and the 6 weeks of healing is over,when can I get back on BC? and if i am breastfeeding is it okay to be breastfeed?

I'm pretty sure it isn't recommended to BF on BCP. BF is actually a natural form of BC (although it is still possible to get pregnant). If you plan to breastfeed, you may want to consider a back up method.

Most women have a pp check up between 4-6 weeks pp where the doctor will give you a prescription for birth control at your request. You usually don't have to wait for your pp period and they say to start it on the next Sunday. You can't take the regular birth control pills if you are bfing, but you can take progestin-only pills aka the mini-pill.

You have to be careful because alot of types of bc have hormones that are not safe for bfing. But, I was placed on Mirena IUD 12-weeks pp and my OB said that it was fine to be on while bfing. We also used condoms as a backup.

You can use bfing as birth control aka LAM. You have to feed on demand at least every 4 hours and not supplement with formula or pump. It has a 1-2% failure rate. I could never do it though because DD would sleep for 6 hour stretches or more since birth.
