DH's meds, should I be concerned?

Hi all, I did google before I posted, and can't seem to find anything really conclusive. Hoping someone might have some knowledge. DH was given RX for Medrol Dosepak and Skelaxin today for back issues. From what I can tell there doesn't seem to be any side effects to sperm count/mot. Just wanted to see if anyone knew anything about these two drugs? TIA!

Re: DH's meds, should I be concerned?

  • I did find limited information on drugs.com that the medrol dosepak could potentially decrease (or increase) motility, or decrease count.

I'm not sure how much of an impact it would really have though...it's a corticosteroid, but the dosepak isn't a high dose, and it's not a long term dose...so, I don't know. Depending on the cause of some preexisting sperm issues, I believe corticosteroids can be used as a treatment.

  • Thanks, that's pretty much the info I cam up with too. He had an SA done last month, and everything came back fine from that. He's just having back issues (old football injury) so they prescribed him these for that. He's supposed to talk to his Dr. again today, so we shall see. Thanks again for the info!
