My aspirators (don't) suck

I have a couple and they don't get anything out of DS's nose. I thought I brought the hospital one home and I could never find it. This AmericanRed Cross brand one doesn't get anything out and I end up using it to sort of pick his nose which he hates after 10 seconds. Anyone have another brand that actually really sucks the snot out?? I think I have a Safety 1st one also and it's not really better.

DH and I had this discussion yesterday morning. The American Red Cross one doesn't work.

I totally agree. My Red Cross one does not work at all. The only one that works is the one that they sent with us from the hospital when he was born.

I don't know the brand but i have one with a wider flatter base that works well. My battery powered one works the best though with the wide tip on. Lots of saline drops before seems to increase the chance of success too.

We've had to buy a few Safety 1st ones before we got one that worked. It is pretty weird - we have one Safety 1st that works GREAT, one that is so-so, and one that is awful. Not sure why there is such a difference, it's dumb.
