You ladies have got me interested in making my own baby food. I have no clue where to start and I am a FT working mom so I don't have a lot of time. How hard is it? good websites?
So easy!!!! Seriously all you have to do is steam them and blend them. The best website is wholesomebabyfood.com It will be your best friend. Then either put them in ice cube trays or buy baby food trays from BRU. Freeze and your done.
dido, I go to Sams club and buy big bags of pears, apples, carrots, etc. Steam, mix in food processor or blender and freeze in the ice cube trays. Then I bag them in ziplock freezer bags. Also invest in a children's food mill. When baby is eating more chucky foods, just put what you are eating in it and twist. easy peasy.
Yup, same as pp's. An hour or two once a month or so, and you're set! Though things like bananas and avocados are much better fresh, and store-bought cereal is easier to do in small batches than homemade.

I didn't go back to work full time, but I was working part time before I was laid off, and I made all my own food. It was so easy! I mostly did it all on Sundays for the week.
I know someone already mentioned wholesomebabyfood.com and you should also check out the book by Anabelle Karmel, 100 best baby purees i think it's called. I basically pureed every fruit and vegetable (I didn't do much meat) and sometimes mixed them. I gave strawberry at about 9.5 months, and mixed it with things like kiwi and pineapple, etc.
