3rd Trimester

Trip to L&D and other stuff (possible TMI)

Last weekend on Saturday I started feeling just really horrible.  By 6:30 I started having contractions and was still having them by 9:30 p.m.  DH's parents stayed with our daughter who was already in bed while we went to the hospital.  Our hospital is 50 minutes away so its a big deal to go.  To make a long story short, they monitored me forever and then gave me a shot to stop the contractions.  They monitored me an hour after that and then we got to go home.  We got home around 2:30 a.m.

Now the past two days I've been feeling awful.  I get contractions every now and then but nothing consistent or extremely painful....so nothing really pregnancy related but I've been having extreme diarrhea (I know...sorry!) since yesterday morning.  I mean....its ridiculus.  I called the OB office and they gave me some suggestions but said if it gets worse that I need to go to L&D again so they can make sure I'm not dehydrated and check and see what's going on.  Ugh....not fun.  This is all while I'm trying to take care of my 14 month old daughter as well while I'm so huge and I am just miserable.  I'm considering looking into daycare for her for the next 4 weeks or so so I can get some rest. :(

  • That sucks! Try to stay hydrated. I'm surprised they didn't give you anything to try to stop the diarrhea?

You should be careful and really listen to your body! Take it easy and I hope everything get's better so that baby can cook longer!

  • Well, can't diarrhea be a sign that labor is coming?  The body's way of clearing everything out?  How long are you trying to keep the twins in?

I'm trying to make it anywhere from 35-38 weeks.

  • Can you try the BRAT diet?  Bananas, rice, applesauce and toast.  It should help with diarrhea.

Is there anyone that can help you with DD?

    GL!
