I have a question (re: being judgy)

Why is it ok to judge/flame OWTH for sleeping with 200 guys but it's NOT ok to judge a mom who doesn't read to her kids? To each their own in both cases no?

    ITA.  we alllllll do it.  About different issues sure but we all do it.  I wear my judgey mcjudgerson badge with pride.  I know I do it.

    I judge both and many more that I don't post about. Why would anone post anything at all if they didn't want to be judged whether positive or not? :P

    FWIW it is important to read to your kids at least beginning before school age (imho). My friend is a teacher and can tell by the child's reading ability if their parents read to them, because they acquire phonetic spelling much like they acquire speaking: through repetition and exposure from a very young age. Those that don't struggle because it is like learning a foreign language. (this is just her opinion, but it makes sense to me as a linguist).

    What it really comes down to is that we ALL judge... and we all judge based on our own standards/expectations/priorities.  I try to reserve my judginess for people who harm or truly neglect kids or animals - those are my hot buttons.  Everyone has their own that cause the "judg-ometers" to rise.

    yes we all do. I have never realy judged anyone but I did last friday. I play softball ona co-ed team and 2 of our team amtes broguth there 4mos old to the game. fine and all, but then they brought him to the bar after the game was over so they could have a few drinks before going home. That is when I judged.

    You have me pegged totally wrong, but what does it matter.  We are on an internet chat board.  I mean really.  All I was saying is that everyone doesn't need to take things so seriously, at least in this forum.  I judge.  In fact I do it all the time, but why judge strangers.  I just don't find pleasure in it.   There are people who deserve to be judged.  Concentrate on them.
