So I just posted about how my c/s tomorrow go changed to 5pm. My doctors office told me to call the hospital and see what the visiting hours are since I am going in so late.
The lady on the phone tried telling me it will probably be around 8pm before I am in a pp room and visiting hours are over at 8pm so visitors shouldnt come until the next day. And my FI cant spend the night and needs to be gone by 9pm...really they want him to leave 4 hours after she is born!
Is this just what they have to say but they dont really stick to it??
Re: does this sound right...re: visiting hours
I think this may differ from hospital to hospital. The hospital I'm delivering at has all private rooms, so visiting hours are 24 hours a day and they also have a pull out bed for H to sleep in.
Can you check to see what the procedure for a private room would be?
Did you have a hospital tour? Are the rooms private? When I had DS, I had a semi-private room. DH only got to stay because the other bed was unoccupied.
I hope your nurses will look the other way like mine did. GL.
Hmm, are you also in the UK and going to the same hospital as me?
They are the same way about visiting hours and it's driving me mental. My dh would be allowed to stay and when the visiting hours are up he has to leave until they are open again in the morning. I am scared to death to be myself especially because they also dont have a nursery so the baby will be with me from the get go. Even if I want to go take a shower I have to take him with me...to the community shower. Siiigh.
Sorry your hospital is sucky as well

Wowwwww. I have no other words....Wowwwww
Oh, hon, I'm sorry to hear that your hospital is like that! I don't blame you for considering a home birth. <<hugs>>
At my hospital, visiting hours are also over at 8pm, but the father gets to stay if he wants. We also have private rooms though, that may make a difference. We also can get permission for others to come in after 8pm, through the ER entrance, if needed.
I highly doubt they will make him leave, I'm sure somebody just didn't have the info down right.
My hospital on their website makes a point of showing how the rooms have a fold out bed in them in case your husband or a family member or whoever wants to stay...I would double check with them. I've never heard of a partner having to leave
