Anyone been on a Carnival cruise?

We are leaving tomorrow on a 4-day cruise to the Bahamas with my entire family, like 25 people, for my grandparents' 50th anniversary. DH and I have only been on one other cruise and it was on Royal Caribbean. We aren't taking DS so that isn't a question... but I'm just wondering how the Carnival cruises are? I've always heard it's more for the college kids to do lots of drinking and partying and I really hope that is not the case!

    It was fun!  We went on two out of Pt. Canaveral and have a great time.  Have fun :)

    Yep, I've been on two cruises.  It is a little more geared toward the college crowd, but we're definitely not college kids and had a great time on both cruises.  There are people of all ages on board.

    I've been on Carnival and RC. While I did like RC better, they really are very comparable. IMO, RC was better with waiter service and entertainment.

    I have been on a couple Carnival cruises and they are def. more party cruises but not necessarily college kids.  I LOVED all of them I am beyond jealous.  Have fun!!!!

    Most people say they prefer RC, but I've always had better service and more fun on my Carnival cruises.  I hope you have a great time!

    Carnival is very different than Royal Carribean.  It's more of a party cruise.  It's louder, etc. (which some people like and some people don't).  One thing that I like about Royal Carribean is that when they have a "Sea Day", they actually keep the boat sailing around giving you a nice breeze.  Carnival 'parks' the boat during their sea day which makes it hot and smelly.

    I went on a 7 day to the Mexican Riveria and we had a great time.  Didn't seem like there were a lot of college kids being roudy to me.  Of course if you are going during spring break or something.
