how many newborn diapers do I need?

I know like 10-12/day, but for how long? How many packs did you use/have?

It depends on teh baby and every baby is different. Go buy enough to last you a week and then go from there.

You can always go to the store and get more. I would just get enough for a few weeks.

DD never wore newborn diapers. She was 8lbs 8 oz. The newborn diapers were just a little too snug on her. We went straight for size ones.

I had a big baby (10.7) and didn't even use the newborns...we skipped right up to size 1. I don't know how big your baby is, but I wouldn't get too many at first. Maybe one or two packs (the hospital will send you home with some too). You can always send someone out to the store for more.

We used NB diapers for about 3 weeks. We just kept buying smaller packs as we needed them cause we didn't know when he would outgrow them.

we bought one pack. she outgrew them right away.? it depends on the size of you baby.

I think we used about 4 packs. DS was 7.1 lbs when he was born.

I went through TONS, at least 3 big boxes. She peed and poo'd like crazy, but I think the mound of dirty diapers was mostly due to my new mother paranoia against leaving her in a dirty diaper for even a second. I changed those suckers as soon as the line turned green. Now I realize that I definitely don't have to do that and go through maybe only 1/5th as many.
