Rylan/Ryland? And a few others...

I already know this won't be very popular here. LOL

But... I actually like it (as of last night!) and when DH or I say a name and the other doesn't say, "No, I hate it!" it's sort of a small miracle. This was one of those names.

So. For now it's on the list.

The others are Tyler (Ty) and Nathaniel (Nate), the latter of which I'm on the fence about because I like Nate but Nathaniel or Nathan, not so much.

(And for those who "know" me and are wondering- no, I don't like these more than the name I thought we chose a while back. BUT, I really want a name that DH and I both like. Smile )

I really like Rylan. I considered it but DH has a cousin named Ryan and our last name ends in -lin so it didn't match well for us. I think it's a different but not too different name. I also like Tyler, not so much Nathaniel.

Yeah, I was thinking the d on the end made the name look more complete. Okay- two girl Rylan comments- Ryland is on the list. LOL

When I asked on here about this name, some people said Rylan was a girl's name mostly because a girl on 3rd tri had just had a little girl and named her this. I think it's a boy's name but I'm weird about boy names possibly being girl names. If you like Ryland better, go for that one.

Rylan and Kingston were the only two names DH and I ever considered naming our LO. I love Rylan! It's unique without being hard to pronounce or spell... it also goes well with Brady (that was your mn choice, right?).

Ryland is my cousins name. I love it - and it suits him. It's unique and you don't hear it very often either! Go for it

Ryland Nathaniel sounds very nice!! Also Ryland Tyler isn't too bad either

My best friend has a nephew named Rylan. I love it! I had never heard it before (he's about 2 now). I also thing it goes great with Brady.

Those do sound good! BUT Brady is set as the middle name. It's my maiden name.

I agree with Ryland being more boy and Rylan being more girl. I actually might add Rylan to our list for girl...

My two cents, I like Ryland Brady. It's unique without being way out there and I think it sounds great with DS's name.

Not a fan of Rylan. I think one of the regulars on 0-6 named her daughter that. Ryland just seems odd to me. Like Portland or Greenland. LOL

I like Landon and Nate. Love Nate actually! I think Nathan is better than Nathanial.

I agree with all of this. I don't like Nathaniel, but Nathan is nice. I really hate Rylan and Ryland. They sound made up to me. I'm surprised you are considering them.?

I think you should go with Tyler. ?

It is. If you look up its English origins, both Rylan and Ryland were originally masculine. It's just another example of girls being greedy and taking all the good names! Stick out tongue

Yeah... I really just heard of this name within the past month or so but I can see/understand it being a name that people are taking for girls. Too bad.

LOL! I didn't think of that but in Ryland you don't pronounce land that way. It's like Rylan with a soft d sound at the end.

Well, FWIW, this name isn't on the list anymore. But, it's weird that a BOY name would be a horrible name for a BOY. LOL
