    if my kid wants a hot dog, he's gettin a hot dog.  it's food and there are a lot of other things that are a LOT LOT worse for him to eat.

    I picture your kid being the one that eats the whole box of fruit rollups at her friend's house because she's not allowed to have anything fun at home. That kid was always sucked so bad.

    FWIW, you can get antibiotic and nitrite free hot dogs that are pure beef.  They are pricey, but DS loves them!!

    I have a toddler. He eats hot dogs. I cut it up into small pieces. Not really that horrifying. Trying to find things a toddler will eat... kind of difficult.

    Spoken by someone who has obviously never had a toddler. Not saying you won't stick to it, but really you have to pick your battles. And as others have pointed out there are decently healthy hot dogs out there.
