Lucky Me!! Stick out tongue

I have Mastitis, in both breasts, and Thrush! Yay me!! It's nothing but antibiotics, antifungal cream, and bed rest for me for 2 days. Oh the joy!!

Make sure to eat a lot of yogurt or take acidophilus tablets - the antibiotics can make thrush worse...

How awful! ?I just had thrush and that was bad enough. ?I hope you feel better soon!

(BTW, I was on an antifungal for months, but the thrush didn't go away until I used gentian violet).

I'm so sorry! No wonder you were feeling so terrible. I second the gentian violet, it worked for us...but you do have to do it on your nipples and in Max's mouth. It's a pain but you only have to do it for 3-4 days. Good luck, hope you feel better soon!

Yikes!!! I had mastitis twice and that about put me over the edge!! I can't imagine having thrush on top of it!! So sorry you have to go through this!! Hopefully your DH will be super helpful and let you rest!!

Thanks for all the well-wishing ladies. I am just glad that it is something treatable and that they caught it before it got really horrible.

I was this close to quitting this weekend...I was so done with breastfeeding, that is how much pain I was in. But it isn't me, or my beautiful boy...It's this damnn infection! Or these damned infections.

Jill--I will definately be keeping up on the yogurt. Thanks for the suggestion.

I just hope I feel better soon!

so soory. I have had bad mastitis before and it sucks. Luckily the drugs work fast! never expierenced thruh though. hope all is better real soon.
