Expectant mother parking spots ::vent::

My grocery store has 6 spots that say expectant mothers/parents with young kids...the past few times I have gone they are all taken and I catch ppl who even if they may be like 15w pg, they don't seem to be struggling to and from store...arrrgg

 I am VERY pregnant and would very much appreciate it if they left the spots alone!!!!  Same with BRU, I know we must all be pg but hey, if you can walk to and from with ease, maybe leave the spot open for someone who can't!

  • I know how you feel.  It makes you want to give every person in the store an evil eye cause it just might be them that took the parking spot.

  • DH always comments that I'm a weirdo because I still won't let him park in those spots when we're out. I told him, when I can't walk the extra 15 feet comfortably, you can park there, but for now I'm going to leave them open for someone who really needs them.?

  • Yeah, I would never park in those spots unless I had to- and if I was that uncomfortable I probably wouldn't be out shopping anyway. But I can totally see how useful they would be in places where you have to worry about slipping on ice, I'd probably use them all the time in that case.

  • I park in them, I don't care really. I'm not saying this in the biitchy tone it's going to come across as, but if you're having that hard of a time walking ask your Dr. for a temp handicapped parking sticker.
  • I understand your frustrations, but whether you are 8 weeks or 38 weeks PG the parking spots are for anyone Pregnant. You never know what issues a person may be having with a pregnancy to judge that they can walk further just because they are not VERY pregnant. If someone can't walk from the parking lot to a grocery store, they shouldn't be out shopping anyways. JMO

    Ooooh...this is so one of my pet peeves too.  I almost reamed out some old hag who was parked in the expectant mothers spot last week when I went to the grocery store.  Obviously, she was past child-bearing years.  I decided not to create a scene, and I didn't want my blood pressure to spike.  After the fact, though, I wish I would have called her out and made her feel like the big b*itch that she is.

  • I need to move were you all live. No stores have special parking for pregnant women or families with young children here.
  • as i was coming out of the grocery store a few weeks ago, i watched a non-pg woman (or if she was, she wasn't showing at all) get into her car that was parked in the "stork" parking. i may have kicked my waddle into gear and hoped she saw me Embarrassed

  • Meh, you have no idea what they're dealing with. Maybe they have horrid m/s that makes walking suck ass. Maybe their asthma has flared up since being pregnant and walking sucks ass. Maybe they have bad sciatica that makes walking sucks.

    I wish they had spots like that here. I know in a month or so when it gets really hot, I'm going to be miserable!

  • The non-pregnant men who don't get up on the NYC subway bother me!!?
  • I parked in one of those spots yesterday at BRU for the first time.  I didn't feel like I needed to park there before.  But like other people said, who knows if they have sciatica, etc.
