Success after IF

IVF ? - Success with Morula

Hey Ladies!  I hope you don't mind me asking a question.

I am on my second IVF.  The first one they transferred two morulas and it failed.  The second time we only had one morula.  I read on the internet that if the embryo doesn't reach the blastocyst stage it will pretty much fail.  So I was wondering if anyone had any success stories with morulas?

Thanks!

Re: IVF ? - Success with Morula

  • IVF #2 was our successful cycle. ? We transferred 1 morula and 1 blast. ? I had a really low beta, only 39 at 9dp5dt, so I'm convinced it was our little morula that stuck around. ?

Just because it's still a morula at day 5 doesn't mean it will fail, it just might be a little slower or a little behind in development.

I can't imagine that clinics would continue to transfer morulas if they didn't think they'd take. ?They are going to be looking out for their best interest and keeping their stats as good as possible too. ??

    Good luck!

  • YES! It was our 1st IVF and we did a 4 Day Transfer of 2 morulas. I was a little hesitant about not waiting until 5 Days at blast stage b/c I had read what you did and my RE assured me that I was incorrect. They only wait until 5 days if I had 6 that were going strong and since I only had 5 at the time, they did a 4 Day instead. It worked! In fact, BOTH implanted, however, one didn't quite form. Think of it this way, people get pg with 3 day embies, so having a morula just means that the embie is even stronger and may have a better chance of implanting in you rather than sitting in a dish.

    Good luck!
