How long did you wait to try again?

Ok guys...

It's been 3 weeks since I had a d/c and was given the ok by the OB to have sex but to wait until July before TTC again. But I don't know if it's my hormones, instinct, or what - but I really feel like I could get pregnant today...(sounds funny I know). But I'm trying to follow the dr's orders of waiting until my vaginal walls build back up but I just feel like it's the right time...anybody ever experienced this and had a successful pregnancy or did you just simply wait?

I just had a miscarriage on 5/12/09, and I myself was wondering the same thing. It seems that from browsing the board, there have been a few people who found out they were pregnant again about a month to 6 weeks later. Hope that helps! I am not sure about it being "successful" though because these were recent posta that I saw.

I keep hearing that most docs advise one to three cycles after the D&C before trying. I didn't have a D&C, nor have I got to these questions for myself yet. Sorry if that's not much help.

I have done a pretty good bit of research and while most doctors do say to wait 3 cycles, this is really just a generalized timeframe. If it is an early loss, you are generally physically ready to TTC after one cycle. If you were farther along or had a complicated m/c, then of course it may take longer for your body to heal. I had a m/c (blighted ovum) at 6weeks and 2 days and I plan on TTC again as soon as AF returns.

I'm four weeks from D&C and was given the ok to TTC once AF returns (she actually said it wouldn't be the end of the world to get pg before then but that theoretically it was a better idea to get back to a normal cycle and a nice, fresh uterine lining). Hoping AF comes sooner rather than later.

My miscarriage started April 17th...I didn't have a D&C so I have been bleeding off and on ever since. my HGC levels are back to 0, so now I am just waiting for my next cycle to show up. I am a teacher, so a July/August conception works out great for maternity leave, so that is what I am hoping for....but I will be happy with it happening any time. I hear of people on the board who have gone 8-12 weeks waiting for thier period after a MC, and I hope I am not going to fall in that category. A summer of baby making sex would suit me just fine lol.

I had a mc in April and didn't wait a cycle to try again. I had the same feeling you did like if I try soon it will happen and I got my BFP last week. You know your body better than any doctor. Trust your gut! Good luck!

Hello! I had a D&C on March 9th and my doctor told me to wait one cycle for my period to come and we could start trying again. My period came 35 days after the D&C and we were able to start trying. I was glad I waited for it gave me confidence that my body had healed and my DH wanted to make sure I had healed as well. We did not have success this last cycle but the good news my cycle was only 30 days which was the same cycle length it was before the pregnancy. I think my body just needed to regulate back to normal and we hope for success this next cycle. I did notice both periods were heavy so I think my body is still trying to regulate itself but this second period it was only heavy for one day instead of the three heavy days that it was last month. I just recently had my followup... My dr said that after AF shows up call the office and 21 days later I will get my progesterine level checked. If it is good, we can ttc on the next cycle. It kinda gives me a piece of mind knowing that my body is ready....even though my mind is ready now!

After my first m/c i know i wanted to try again right away. i waited until the first AF then we tried again. i ended up having another m/c @ 7wks. no dr. has said it was b/c it was too soon. i think if you are ready then go for it.
