NBR: I had something horrific happen to me today

I posted it in the pets board but I'll post it here because it was just, so horrible that I'm still very shaken by it. I'll paste it below:
If i make any mistakes in this post, I'm sorry. I'm still shaking and traumatized.I was driving to my dad's house to drop something off that he needs. I had the baby in the back. Anyway, I have to pass through a pretty bad neighborhood to get to my dad's. There's no way of getting around it. I saw 3 boys KICKING A DOG HORRIFICALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to KILL myself. I screamed something out my window and then one of the boys (they were about 15 or so) pulled out a gun and SHOT THE DOG!!!!! I hightailed it out of there and drove to a police station that's about 2 miles away. I was almost screaming in there and crying my eyes out. The police sent someone to check it out. Needless to say, I didn't get to my dad's. I want to die, die, die. Those images will never leave my mind. OMG!!!!!!!!

OMG, that literally made me cry. How horrible. I am glad that you and DD are okay, cause it could have gone so wrong in an instant.

Is there any way you can go to your dad's house w/o driving through that neighborhood? I'm always afraid of my car breaking down in one of the bad neighborhods, so I avoid them like the plague...
I'm still traumatized and probably will be for life. They were caught and charged with a whole bunch of stuff.
Soon to celebrate the day we met, even if the day before marks when we said goodbye.
The kids are gang members and were told by the older gang members to dispose of a bait dog (a dog that's used for bait for fighting dogs). They were caught and surprisingly admitted their guilt. It was so horrific. I was terrified. I didn't know those STUPID IDIOTIC kids had a gun!!!!! If I did, I would've just called the police on my cell phone, but since I'm an animal lover, my first instinct was to yell at them. Those images will never leave my mind.
That is horrible. What the hell is wrong with people. That poor, poor dog. I also started crying as I looked at my own dog that I treat like a human.

i saw a dog get hit by a car and it was so horrific i cannot even talk about it, lets just say the dog was doing things that healthy animals should never be doing i started sobbing and went to find a highway patrol to go get the dog. it was HORRIBLE.
I don't mean to hijack the thread, but there could be a chance that the dog had been very badly injured, was in pain and dying, and the person who shot it was ending its suffering. I mean, I'm not saying that's something that I would ever want to do, but suppose the dog had been hit by a car and was terribly mangled or something...I just don't see the point in making the dog suffer needlessly on a ride to the vet, only to be euthanized there. Especially since you heard the dog making sounds as though it was in pain, I would suppose this might've been the case.
But yeah, it obviously sucks either way.
I was driving to my dad's. My dad doesn't live in a bad part but you have to pass through this neighborhood to get there. I've passed through this neighborhood 3 gazillion times and have never seen anything like this. I wanted to pluck out my eyes. It was so horrific and I'll never forget it.
No one should have to see something like that. Sorry that you did.

The kids admitted that it was a bait dog for dog fighting and were told to "dispose" of it. They were violently kicking it and then when I screamed at them, they pulled out the gun and shot it.

Juvi? F that. They know better, charge them as adults!!
They're in BIG trouble, especially for the firearm posession. They also got a 1st degree animal cruelty charge and they had drugs on them also.
Oh my gosh! That is terrifying. Just reading your post made my blood run cold. I'm so, so, so sorry 1) that something like that happened & 2) that you had to witness it -- especially now, with a new baby when you just want to cherish all the sweetness & innocence of life. I would be traumatized as well!!! Thank goodness your little one is too young to know what was going on. Terrible. Hopefully the police will be able to prosecute someone for animal cruelty.

Imagine, I'm traumatized by those ASPCA commercials, you can only imagine seeing abuse in front of your very eyes. I'm still in shock. It was so horrible.
