1st Trimester

stressing because of previous m/c

I had a m/c last fall and just found I'm pregnant again. The last two weeks my bb's have been sore and now I got up this morning and they're not.. I've also had mild achiness in my lower abdomen the whole time. Is this normal??

Re: stressing because of previous m/c

  • Your symptoms will come and go, even in a healthy pregnancy. Achiness/cramping is normal also.

  • I'm sorry for your loss.

I know it's hard not to stress, but this is normal.

Congratulations on your pg. I have had a previous loss (in Jan) as well so I know what it's like to worry. Just try to take one day at a time.

I had mild cramps for a few days before and after the time I would have gotten my period (at 4 wks). It's normal to have some mild crampiness or achiness in the first tri. And it is normal for symptoms to come and go as well.

  • At my OB, if you've had a previous m/c, they have you come in for bloodwork, u/s to make sure everything is going ok this time around.  Maybe you should call your dr. for piece of mind.

Good Luck - hoping all turns out well!

  • I had achiness in my lower abdomen for several weeks after bfp, and the bbs have been sore off and on the whole time. GL and I wouldn't be shy about calling your doc if you get really stressed about something, it's better to alleviate your mind than to carry the stress.
  • I too miscarried last fall and it was awful! I know exactly how difficult it is not to worry about every little thing. I even had light spotting with this pregnancy. My doctor has been doing a ton more this time whic reassures me a lot.

I bet you'll be just fine and have a healthy pregnancy. Stay strong and stay positive!

  • I am in the same boat.  However, I am having some light spotting too.  I did the same thing with my daughter for the first four months, so I try not to worry, but it's hard!  Hang in there!
  • Sounds like you're right on track. A really good place to check out on here is Success after a loss. I had a m/c in Feb and they've helped a lot.
  • Yes, that can be normal.  I know what you are going through.  I've had 5 m/c's, 2 healthy girls, and am expecting again.  It's very nerve wracking.  I've found the Success after a loss board to be a great place to visit.  Everyone there is going through what you are.   Best of luck to you!

I had a miscarriage in December, and it has made me nervous about this pregnancy as well.  I don't remember much about being pregnant with DS, as it was 2+ years ago.  I was cramping on and off during weeks 4 and 5, but I have not had any recently.  You can bet that I was freaking out, but it is normal.  My Dr. did two blood tests, and it reassured to see my betas and progesterone number were good.  All in all, I feel good about this pregnancy, but I have my moments when I get scared.  I will feel a lot better after my first ultrasound on June 1st.  Good luck!
