I totally applaud you! You are a braver woman than I! Every time I even think of Drake getting near a pool I physically cringe. It makes me sick! I have seen so many posts from moms that have taken their trached babies in pools and I can't believe people can handle it! Good for you! I wish I could get over fear and let myself relax a little.

Pumpkinbug - regarding jumping - he finally figured it out when he had a visual, but was still firm on the ground. We had him jump OFF a piece of paper onto the floor. I guess just having that 'line' drawn for him to jump 'over' helped. I've also heard to tape a line to the floor (masking tape), but didn't try that one. It still took a while, but it helped tremedously. I'll look forward to hearing how the trampoline helps, we never had the opportunity to get one - thought it was a great suggestion from our DT.
The jumps are SO cute - he bends down WAY farther than we would ever think to - and then throws his hands way back - here's a pic!
Nanakwaz I can not even begin to tell you how fearful I am of Cash being near any body of water, including the toliets. I too seriously freak. Cash is such a splasher too that I am freak, so much so that I avoid bath time with him at all costs.
With a little encouragement he went in and loved it! I have never seen such a BIG smile. We have a little floater that he stays in but I held his butt up higher the whole time and had several HME's sitting next to the pool in case they became wet. I can tell you I too get so nervous when I read or hear about trached kiddos swimming, it takes my breath away!
Breezy - great idea about the line never heard of that but will sure be trying it! Beau is getting more adventerous as each day passes. I just love him so much and cant help but fall even further in love every time he does something new!!
