Gurggling!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone else experience a gurggling/swallowing sound when their LO is sleeping or laying flat. It sounds like a mix btw gurggling and straining (like he is pooping) and sometimes its so bad he turns red and awakes screaming. The pediatrician said it is normal and he is managing his secretions. Everything else like his poop, eating and temperature is normal. Did anyone else experience this and what was the reason? I have a feeling he might have a digestive problem, i.e. reflux or maybe he is just gassy. Thanks

  • Your pedi said it was fine, though?

A gurgling in his stomach? or in his throat?

Our DS has reflux and you can hear the milk come up his throat, and then you'll hear him swallow.  We can't lay him flat on his back or he'll just be miserable.  He will strain sometimes (some of our friends mistake it for pooping) because it makes him stressed out and uncomfortable.

  • She did say it was fine but sometimes doctors dismiss things. I just want to make sure. Thats the first time mom in me. Thx
  • It sounds like he is gurggling in his throat and it is mostly when he is on his back. How do you put him to sleep/lay him down~ stomach?
