Back story- last night around midnight she woke up crying and felt warm. I took her temp and it was 100.9 so I gave her some tyleno and she fussed for awhile then fell asleep. This morning no temp but I gave her some tylenol just in case then I went to work.
Well I get home from work and she is burning up so I lay her down to check her temp and all of the sudden she went stiff, her eyes were huge and fixed towards the cieling and she was making this awful sound. So I scream her name and snap my fingers and nothing. Well I take her and run down stairs saying call 911. My mom takes her from me and she is still staring at the ceiling. I am blowing in her face and still saying her name and nothing. Well the ambulance gets here and they take her from my mom I get in and off we go.
Well the paramedics are flicking her feet and rubbing her chest and she starts to come to. The look she had then was awful sh still wasn't "there" then she cried and I loved it. They took us in right away did a bunch of things like temp, blood pressure, put a bag around her vag, gave her motrin. Then we waited and waited finally the dr came in and checked everything. She had a febril sezure because she had a fever. the dr said its just a virus and just keep up with the tylenol and motrin, lots of liquid and keep her cool.
It was so awful seeing her like that I actually felt sick to my stomach when she went stiff. Now I have to watch her when she gets fevers. I have to say the nurses were wonderful but I never want to go there again.

R had a febrile seizure when she was 9 months old. It was very scary! I slept on the couch w/ her for a week b/c I was afraid it would happen again!
I hope Danica is feeling better soon! I'm soo sorry that happened!

gosh those are scary. I went on a few febrile seizure calls when I was in the EMS squad....aint nothing sweeter than finally hearing a baby scream bloody murder after a seizure like that.
And your dr is right...she is gonna be more prone to getting them...just watch her carefully.
(((((HUGS)))))
How scary! Hope she feels better soon.

That exact thing happened to Jake a year ago, the virus he had was Roseola. The seizure was horrible, DH says. I wasn't here. I'm so affraid of it happening again that as soon as he starts running a fever he check it about every 20min and keep it in check. I had those as well when I was a child, freaked my mom out every time.
I hope you never have to go through that again and I'm glad to hear she's ok.
