anyone considering the Shettles Method? (esp. for those TTC #2 and up)

I just know the basics about it - was considering trying for a girl. I think it sounds too hard and a bit stressful though. I don't know if I can be patient to wait to get pg month after month since to try for a girl you're supposed to have sex 4-2 days before ovulation. Seems way easier to try for a boy.

It comes down to chance overall, huh?!

I did use OPK's when I got pg w/DS. This is our 1st mo. of TTC for #2. I've already been charting for 10 months to prevent pregnancy, so I have a pretty good idea of what my cycles are like already. In my mind I want at least 3 kids. I love my little boy to pieces and think brothers would be a lot of fun. A daughter is just such a different experience (looking at my family of 2 boys and 2 girls). I have a great relationship w/my mom.

OK, i'm majorly babbling. TTC takes over your mind sometimes!

First, I am going to concentrate on getting pregnant AT ALL. Second, I will be happy with whatever gender God gives me, in whatever order. I also think this would be way too stressful for me to try and keep up with.

I am TTC #2 and hoping for boy but I will take a girl. At this point, I really don't care what I get, but yes... I always try to have sex right before O so I have better chances.

i think it's good that you don't only want to get pg with a girl. i think you should go for it and whatever you end up with, it will be great!

This. It is already stressful enough trying to figure out how to get pregnant let alone trying to figure out what sex to get pregnant with.?

I am just trying to get pregnant, I will be happy with whatever God grants us, however a girl would be great, but we are not doing any method to promote those chances. I'm just praying for a baby.

Shettles method crossed my mind but right now I would be thrilled to be pregnant, no matter what the sex of our child is. Personally I am just shooting for a healthy baby.

I think we'll probably try it for a few months when it comes time for #2.. for shizznits and giggles. If no luck after a few months, we'll go back to the old fashioned way.

I'd like a boy but not enough to deal with the heartbreak of BFNs constantly.

I think you would have just as much luck doing this as you would using the Chinese gender calendar (that would be less stressful too). Regardless it is 50/50. My SIL is obsessed with having a girl, they already have 2 perfectly healthy boys. She tried some method when TTC#2 to have a girl (she swore by it because 2 of her friends used it and were having girls), obviously it didn't work. She says she will try it again. I don't get it. I just thinking that it is not in our hands regardless of methods.

Meanwhile we just want to have a baby that is healthy, boy or girl doesn't matter.

I agree with some of the pp. I just want to get pregnant, period. I really don't care much about the sex of the baby at this point.

Even though I think it would be cool to have a boy if we get pregnant again, I really just would like to have another baby. I LOVE being a Mommy to a little girl so if I get to do that all over again that's good too.

BTW: DD is stting next to me telling to to hurry and post so she can see her picture. She's so funny!
