Nursing Bra ?

I'll definitely need new nursing bras as my old ones definitely do not fit.  When is the best time to buy a nursing bra?  Last time I had already bought them before having DD, but I'm thinking of waiting to buy them this time, the reason being that I don't think I got a good fit last time.  I didn't wear anything in the hospital or for the first few days home for that matter, until my milk came in.  Then my boobs were of course huge for what seemed like forever and that is when I started thinking that I could have used a better fit, but eventually I got past that ginormous stage and they were okay after that... but just okay, still not a great fit.  I have nursing tanks, so do you think that is enough at first?  Or should I just go shopping today?

Re: Nursing Bra ?

  • I'd go to Target and get a couple cheap ones for the first few weeks.  They're only $12.99 for a lot of the styles.  I got a sleep/sports one there that is really comfy and it doesn't have padded cups so even if it an exact fit it would work out until you get measured.  If you want to get measured for a better fit, I'd say to wait about 4-6 weeks until your supply regulates a bit and you're no longer ginormous! LOL

This is exactly what I did!  I bought two from Target and wore them into the ground for the first six weeks.  Then I had a fitting and bought nicer ones.  They were a little big by the end, but that was probably bound to happen no matter what.  For the rest of the time I felt like they fit very well.

  • I got fitted late in my pregnancy at Motherhood Maternity, and I think they did a good job.
