When will you switch from a highchair to a booster

for mealtime?  Is there a certain age when this is common?

    I just bought her a highchair, so I wasn't planning on it for a while.

    My 2 year old is still in a high chair.  We have the Space Saver by FP so she sits at the table with us.  I plan on keeping her there until she protests or becomes a much neater eater.  She uses a spoon and fork pretty well but still makes a huge mess with quite a few items.
