Morning everyone! Shall we start the week off with a mini-poll? 

Just curious -

How far in advance (of starting TTC) did you choose your donor and order the vials?

    Made the final choice about 2 weeks before the IUI.  Ordered the next day.  Had them shipped to the RE about 1 week before IUI.

    about a month before we did our first iui.  If I hadn't skipped ovulation in september we would have been able to to do an insem as the sperm got to the midwives the week of my usual ovulation.  I think the stress of wondering if our timing would work actually messed my cycle up.

    We made our final choice and ordered about 3 weeks before the first insem.  The samples ended up being delievered to AICGB one week before the ICI, but we were expecting it to only be a few days prior.

    not long. we had it narrowed down to 5, but didn't make the final decision until right around the time the cycle started, i believe...

    We thought we'd chosen our donor about 3 months before our start date. When we went to get the last pieces of information (ultra-detailed profile and adult photos), though, we decided he wasn't for us. So the donor we actually used for cycle #1 we chose maybe a month before our first insem. We didn't order the vials till the week of our anticipated IUI (it ended up being delayed a bit), and we picked them up from the bank ourselves and drove them to the RE's office. We only bought 2 vials (1 to use and 1 to have on hand in case there was something wrong with the first sample).

    IUI #3 gave us the best 2nd anniv. gift ever: 2 babies! (born 03/09/10)
    Peanut and Little Man are getting so big! 2 years old already!

    We chose in September or so after much looking for  few months...then we started trying in January.

    We chose our donor a month or two before and had a back-up. We spent a long time researching though, months ahead of time.

    We chose in mid-2008, bought on 12/31/08 and won't start ttc until fall 2009. A bit crazy, but our donor was such a perfect match, and such a rare mix, that we felt it was worth it.
