Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Now a SAHM by way off lay off.

So Friday I had to do a taping of me signing a song to be shown at graduation. So right before I do it I get a call from my boss telling me they have to make some cuts. So now I'm outs a job. I was upset at first but really if it was going to happen this is the best possible time.

I just graduated, we'll get Cobra and I'l hopefully get a new job with some new money so I'm really ok with it. Plus that job never really paid our bills, but we got pretty good insurance and I sat at my computer and did homework all day. So it's no big loss. I really feel worse for our babysitter cuz now she's out a job as well. And DD really liked her.

But now I get to spend more time with her which is always good.

Sorry this was long, it should have come with a disclaimer.

  • sooooo....i'm sorry, but congrats?   =]

sometimes i secretly wish to get laid off, even though we'd probably be pretty effed if it did happen -- at least i'd get to hang out with the little man all day...and enjoy this PG a little...

Yup, it's been almost 4 months for me. I am trying to enjoy it but it is frustrating since there are no jobs out there - not to depress you or anything. The Help Wanted section is about 4 pages of nothing on Sundays. I've applied to countless jobs on Monster and CareerBuilder too.

At least nice weather is coming so that will be a positive.

  • Yeah, I mean I did cry about when I first talked to my boss because I would have stayed there at least through the summer but after DH and I talked about it I felt better about the situation and just tried to focus on the positives.

And it will definitely be nice to spend more time at home.

The thought of me not finding a job is terrifying. But with my field there are plenty of jobs available but it all depends on what test scores you have. And I'm pretty certain I did not great on one of them,so that would mean there would be a lot less jobs available for me.

  • Welcome to the SAHM club ways of lay off!  Hopefully you will be able to get unemployment.
  • Congrats on the graduation. Sorry about your job loss but it sounds like it might work for your good.
