Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

First pregnancy, miscarried at 7 1/2 weeks

Thursday, I went to the ER because I had brown discharge.  After numerous tests and an ultrasound(my first),the Dr. told me my Hcg levels were normal but the baby's heart rate was only at 80.  By the time I left the ER I was full on bleeding. When I went to my follow appt. the next day I knew there would be nothing left. Yesterday I passed what I believe was the baby.  Is no one else finding comfort when people say "well you can always try again"?  To me its like someone who lost a child "well you still have two more."

Those aren't the words you say to someone who has miscarried. Sometimes not saying anything at all and just being there for the person is so much better. Who wants to hear all the crap people have to say anyways!! It really doesn't make you feel any better. Just be with the ones you love!! Take it easy! Hugs!!

  • People say a lot of dumb things that don't help and sometimes hurt because they don't really know what to say. (and that isn't right - ppl should shut up).
I'm so sorry that you are going through this.

  • I lost my first baby (first pregnancy) at 8 weeks 1 day on April 11th.  People say that constantly, I completely understand.  It makes me angry, it pisses me off.  I know people dont know what to say but i would just rather them say nothing!   I'll be thinking about you!!!  I'm sorry you're having to go through this.... I know it sucks!
  • I totally get it too... i lost my first pg at almost 6 weeks on April 3rd... there are really dumb things people say... even my mom, who had 2 m/c and 1 child die at the age of three used the words "maybe it was retarded or something"... as if I wouldn't want my child if that were the case... i think either they just don't get it, or they just don't remember what it's like... i'm sorry... if there's one thing i can promise you... NO ONE ON THIS BOARD WILL SAY ANYTHING LIKE THAT TO YOU...

We'll tell you... it SUCKS and we're HERE to help you get through this too... it's not fun and we hate it... the club no one wants to join... but we are all in this together and will all get through it together...

  • People say very stupid and insensitive things during times like this. They just don't know what else to say. My OB even made the ole' "You can always try again." comment. Sorry for your loss sweetie.
