Hello all! ?My partner and I are hoping to start our family within the next 6 months. ?We have our 1st appointment with the reproductive/endocrinology M.D.'s next month. ?We have a donor in place. ?Now we just need to make it happen. ?I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their stories of how they conceived. ?IUI? ?The "old fashioned way". ?Using medications like Clomid? ?1st time success stories. ?Etc, etc. ?I am a R.N. so I have a good understanding of all the different processes and such. ?We were really looking to get some first-hand perspectives. ?Thanks so much in advance!?
Re: How'd ya do it?
We did IUI with the help of injectables ( follistim and hcg) and used an anonymous donor.
Good luck!

Welcome! I have no first-hand account to offer yet, as I just started tracking my cycle with plans to start ttc in a few months, but wanted to say welcome and good luck!!!
When the time comes, we are doing non-medicated IUIs with frozen donor sperm at a midwife practice.

We 9 did cycles starting with ICIs at home (2), non-medicated IUIs (2), IUIs with Clomid and a trigger shot (3), and IUIs with Follistim, Clomid, and a trigger (2.) We used 4 (anon/frozen) donors in the process - all from Fairfax Cryobank.
We now have 3 year old (tomorrow!) twin boys.
GOOD LUCK!!
This is our first cycle but we're going the medicated IUI route (for a variety of reasons) and using frozen donor sperm. Good Luck!
We are fostering right now but did go through 7 IUI cycles before taking a break.
We tried Clomid, Tamoxifen and Follistim all with triggers and progesterone supps. We used anon donor sperm and all of our cycles were with an RE.
Good Luck!
