Switching Formulas??

Did anyone use a Gentle formula like Enfamil gentleese, etc. and move to  regular formula?? If so how old was your baby?? Did they respond ok??

I know all babies are different but just asking.

Thanks ladies.

Re: Switching Formulas??

  • when we were switching from pure breastmilk to formula we did it very gradually.

we increased it by an ounce a day I think.

Now that I type this he always had some formula in the breastmilk for added calories but we still increased it gradually.  We also did that when we switched to regular milk.  I also think he was about 9 months old when we switched to pure formula then 1 year old when switching to pure milk.

Hope this answers your question, it kind of sounds like a bunch of babble.

  • We didn't use Enfamil, we used Similac Advanced & tried switching at one point to the Kroger brand formula, it did not go too well. ?The Similac Advanced has almost no bubbles & I found that the Kroger brand had lots of bubbles so dd was always getting gas after taking a bottle. ?I think I tried using it for about a week & then just switched back b/c it wasn't worth it for me.

    Michelle?

  • We are currently bf and ff and I was thinking of switching to the gentalease by Enfamil (currently on the lipil) b/c he is just sooo fussy all the time. I am going to call the nurse tomorrow and see what they say. I'll let you know what they think.
  • I started with regular, moved to Gentlease (the generic version anyway), and around 7 months, she started to stop spitting up altogether and so we moved to the regular formula again. She did fine with the transition and had no problems.

I'd say if the babies are not showing any problems with it anymore, and are not spitting up, you can try it and see what happens.

We had this problem with Leah, too, early on. She'd fuss every single time she was at the bottle and as soon as we switched to Gentlease, within a day, she was normally eating. GL!
