f/u to extremely bad diaper rash

Okay, I put DD in a warm soak (no soap or anything) and then let her air out in the PNP on some towels for over an hour. Then i put some neosporin on her vagina because the skin is raw and bloody. It looks like a skinned knee would look. That stung her and she screamed but when she peed, it kept the urine from stinging. Then I put a lil' swimmers diaper on her until i can go to the store and get her some regular diapers.

Should I use lotrimin on her even though her skin is open and bloody?

neosporin might help with the healing, but A&D ointment might be a better barrier that would hurt less going on.

Do you have some cloth diapers you can put her in while it heals? Yikes.

What does the pedi say? If it's open and bleeding, I'd call the pedi.

  • Poor BABY!

I would definitely call her pedi ASAP.
My Dr. office answers around the clock and forwards you to a nurse or DR.
It sound like an allergic reaction...something that is coming out in her urine or poop?
    Maybe a really acidic fruit?

  • When that happened with DD, my doctor recommended Triple Paste or Dr. Smith's.  Those are the only diaper creams I'll use now...they work wonders!
