Do you still use a crib soother?

We have the Fisher Price aquarium soother thing in DD's crib.  Over the past month I noticed when she wakes up from the middle of a sleep cycle she clicks it on and then lays down and watches it till she falls asleep again.  DH and I thought it was cute but now I am thinking she is starting to get pretty addicted and will be dragging this thing with us anytime we travel.  If you had one do you still use it or did you eventually take it out of the crib.  She is in her crib napping right now and I just noticed she turned it back on.

C still uses hers. She calls it her TV. She plays with it until we get her in the morning and hums along with the music. If it works, don't mess with it!

  • DD uses the music/light base part of the Rainforest mobile she had.

We tried the Aquarium thing, but the clicking of the fish's tail kept her awake.  So yeah, if she wakes up she will turning the music and fall asleep to it - I think it's a good thing (better than crying for me!)

  • Yes we use it.  The travel thing became an issue for us a LONG time ago.  I found myself in TX searching for a crib soother at 1 am!  I ended up buying him the FP seahorse soother instead for like $9 and it's perfect for travel.  But there is no way we're giving up that rainforest soother at home!  Love it!

  • We have a sound machine/projector.  It sits on DS' dresser.  I set it for 15 minutes.  It plays music and projects fish/birds on the ceiling.  DS doesn't need it to fall asleep, but it helps.  We have traveled with it before, but he sleeps at my parent's house without it.
