Which doll was your DD's first doll? We are searching for a good doll for Brenna. She has a cloth doll from Carters that she just loves and sleeps with every night. The sitter has a little 8ish inch baby doll that has the plastic head and limbs and a soft cloth body. Brenna clings to it when she is there.
Where do I find a doll that she can play with now that has the plastic head, arms, and legs? We do not want it to talk or move or do anything funky. Just a doll. One trip down the doll aisle at Target freaked me out. They were all moving on their own like they were possessed. Creepy! Advice?
Re: Moms of girls.... I need doll advice
My sister got Ellie this doll for her first birthday. She is so sweet. She's all soft except for the head, hands and feet and just the right size for Ellie to hold. She also sucks her thumb and fits well in Ellie's Fisher-Price doll stroller/walker. Ellie's actually playing with her right now. She loves to "give the baby kisses."
I also got her a Cabbage Patch newborn for Christmas. Ellie loves it too, especially pulling off the hat and playing with its hair, but it's a little big for her to carry around or play with easily.

I almost bought that Middleton doll online last night. I am so happy to get a good review on it. We need to get one soon. She tries to bring the sitter's doll home every day and cries when we won't let her. I have never seen her get so attached to a toy like that.

First of all... this doesn't need to just be for moms of girls
Playing with dolls is beneficial for both girls and boys.
We bought one for Griffin when he was about 10 months old. I got a Cabbage Patch newborn because it was the perfect size. I found a bald one because I was concerned that he might try to chew on that gross yarn hair. The one we bought came with a little bottle and he liked pretending to feed the baby. Two years later he still plays with the doll sometimes.

My MIL got Macy a corolle doll (from FAO Schwartz- you can get it in the FAO Schwartz in Macys at Kenwood Towne Center). It is the cutest doll (main part is so soft) and Macy loves chewing on her rubbery hands/face. It won "best toy or best doll" award the last few years. They have a bunch of stuff on their website about all the awards they've won. I think it's around $20ish. I highly recommend it.
