I live in Hopkins and would like to give birth at Fairview Southdale, but am open to other hospitals if someone has a strong recommendation. I've been going to the John A. Haugen clinic in Edina and have had a really bad experience thus far. I'd really like an OB doctor and clinic who actually cares about their patients and their health. I'm 10.5 weeks along and want to find someone dependable soon so that I can start building a relationship with a care provider that I'm comfortable with. Thanks much for any thoughts you have!
Re: Looking for a professional & personable clinic/doc - Any recommendations?
I go to Paul Larson, OB/GYN right across the street from Fairview Southdale. Their doctors only deliver at that hospital. There are about 6 MD's at that facility.
It's a good clinic, I haven't had any problems so far.
Welcome to - Paul Larson OB/GYN Clinic, P.A.
I also go to Paul Larson Clinic...have for years and years. I would also recommend it.
I switched clinics in my first pregnancy at 20 weeks. I go to Diamond women's center in Edina now. I see Dr. Chow. He delivered both of my children, and I couldn't have asked for better experiences. He is blunt, and straight to the point, and he often runs behind because he is sooo thorough. I recommend friends to him often. He even called me after I had my children to see how I was doing. He has also delivered my friend's child, and I have other friends who see him who do not have children yet. Everyone at the clinic is great too.
Good luck!

I've also had great experience with Diamond Women's Center. The Drs are knowledgeable (NPs and Midwife too). I bring reading material, because they run behind from time to time. However, if you need to be seen on a emergent basis, they'll get you in too. My doc always calls me back with lab/test results in a timely manner. During clinic visits, he answers all my questions/concerns, which is why he probably runs behind;)
My sister, sister-in-law, and I have used them for all our pregnancies (7 total between the 3 of us) and all of us agree that we would never change.
I absolutley adore my OBGYN Dr. Anne Meschke from Southdale OBGYN. She was recommended to me by 2 different friends and 2 different work associates of mine. (Kind of strange that all of those people went to the same doctor.) I could not have been happier.
Hello Nadiaa, I recently moved from an hour away to MSP and am in the preliminary stage of researching local OBGYN's. Did you end up changing doctors/clinics, and if so, who did you end up going with? Are you happy with them? Thank you in advance for any information you can provide:-)
