Where does baby sit to eat solids?

DD can't sit up on her own yet, but I think she may start solids in a week or so (after her four month appt). I'm torn between now and six months, so I want to see what the doctor says next week. If she does, where does she "sit" while I feed her? I'm guessing not her high chair. Should I put hold her? In her bumbo? In her entertainer?

We started DD on solids around 4.5 months and we put her in her high chair. We also started giving her her bottles in her high chair too, except for her bedtime bottle. She started holding her own bottle around 5 months.

I have zero experience with this at this point, but a good friend of mine started her son off using the the bumbo with the tray. Is she still too little for a high chair?

I started my 6 month old on solids a few weeks ago and I tried the bumbo but I don't think she was comfortable. So now we feed her in her swing and that works great. We are getting a highchair this weekend so we will see how that goes.

We put DS in his highchair, however we didn't start solids until 6 months, and he had been sitting for quite a while by that point.

we put DD in her high chair and let her play w/ a spoon a couple of weeks before we started solids at 6 mo. If she's too little, try putting a rolled-up towel in front of her

Caroline we used her Space Saver high chair.

For J we use the Bumbo.

We started using the bumbo - they don't really need the tray until they older anyway. I put it on our table and sat and fed her there until she was a little bit bigger and fit into the high chair better.

I couldn't get him to look up ( he was too interested in looking at the seat) to see his mouth in the bebe pod (like bumbo), so I started him in a bjorn bouncy seat. Then it got messy, I kept having to wash the cover, so I got a Chico highchair that reclines (he's just now sitting up unassisted).

DD didn't start solids until 6 months, but she sits in the bumbo (still does).

I started Lily off in the Bumbo seat at 4 months. We switched her to the FP Space Saver high chair about three weeks ago. She was getting tall enough that she could put her feet on the counter in the Bumbo and push with them. I was afraid she was going to come out of it.

I think she may be closer to sitting in the high chair than I thought. I sat her in it and she held herself up pretty well. She should be fine in a few weeks.

we used his little bouncy seat at first (took the toy bar off) and after he was better at sitting up for longer periods moved to the high chair.

If your high chair reclines, you can use that (our Chicco highchair does recline). You can also try the Bumbo, or a bouncy seat. We actually fed DD in our laps the first few weeks. We waited until 6 months though, we didn't see the benefit earlier. At that point, she was def ready for the high chair.

I started DS on cereal at 5 months because he was definitely showing hunger signs at that point and our pedi said if he was then it was okay otherwise wait until 6 months. He sat in his high chair fine--I didn't have to recline it at all at 5 months.
