We'll have to wait for the testing to find out what went wrong, but I don't think our pregnancy failed because it was an IUI instead of an IVF. I guess if we had done IVF we could have done the pre-transfer genetic testing but I don't think that is standard for IVF.
We're going to do at least a few more IUIs once my cycle starts back up again. I don't think I could handle doing IVF right now but we have done so many IUIs that it feels pretty routine. Also, the nurses and staff know us there by now so I think they will be a little more sensitive with regards to the emotional side of things.
However, if you are OOP, you may want to go towards IVF because the success rate is so much higher. Do you know why you experienced your losses? Is it something that IVF could have avoided? It wouldn't hurt to have that discussion.
I haven't delivered yet, but I'm 32 weeks pg with an IUI baby. ?:) ?Our second IUI (4th round of injectables) took. ?I was also on progesterone until 13 weeks.
