So on our L&D tour last night they told us about the celebration dinner that you get after delivery. The bring you steak/chicken/fish, champagne, dessert, etc.. I was so surprised.
Ours does a celebration dinner the night before you check out too. I don't know what's on the menu but it sounds like a fun idea. I am bringing my own champagne
I was really shocked that they do that but I guess the hospital is really great for delivery. It is the only hospital where our MW will deliver (she has worked at all the hospitals in the area and she said she will not deliver at any of them ever again).
The information we received said that we get a celebration dinner, but not what it would be. I am not holding my hopes up too high for it though, it is still hospital food.

My hospital did with DS but it was something you had to pay extra for. DH and I decided we would rather go out to a nice dinner after I got out than pay for a hospital steak No thanks!
Mine did, we had a choice of entrees (I think steak, some chicken thing, and a salmon something or other), all sorts of sides, dessert and wine or champagne. It was for me and DH. All other meals provided were just for me, but because we had a room service menu and we could order as much as we wanted, I always ordered extra for DH so he didn't have to live on chick-fil-a from the hospital food court.
We get steak and lobster and some sides and treats of our choice. I am so excited and they take the baby during this time to give you a break. Also the food there is really good. Not like hospital food at all. I was shocked.

I had my tour last night as well. There was no mention of a celebration dinner but the nurse doing the tour kept saying how "excellent" their food was. Mothers get to order "restaurant style" and the father gets a free meal after the baby arrives. I thought the father part was the funniest! She made sure to make it clear that the men are not allowed to eat until after the birth...
We got it the day before we left and I was shocked. I had heard of ladies on here getting this, but I didn't even know ours offered it. We got a steak dinner and some yummy chocolate cake - it was quite delish!
Ours does this the night you check out. I'm not holding out hope that it will be good but it is nice they try in the end it's still from the hospital cafitieria.

Re: Hospital Celebration Dinner?
I know of one hospital here that does it. Mine doesn't. It's not a reason I'd pick my hospital, but it's definately a nice bonus!!!
I've already given DH and BFF very specific orders:
Clare Leasingham Bin 61 Vintage Year 2001
Salmon Sashimi from Omi Sushi
and as many assorted rolls as I can eat from said sushi bar before I puke.
All must be ready to go within 30 mins of pushing out Baby Red.?
I was really shocked that they do that but I guess the hospital is really great for delivery. It is the only hospital where our MW will deliver (she has worked at all the hospitals in the area and she said she will not deliver at any of them ever again).
I'm in NW Indiana, about 45 mins from Chicago.
I'm delivering at Community North and maybe I missed this on the L&D tour, but I hope they do!
I should add this: With what y'all pay to HAVE a baby in a hospital down there in America, I surely hope they give you some sort of treat afterward.
Because we don't pay anything here, I will happily have my own food brought to me. I can verify the quality of it too!?
