recieving blanket

Is anyone else thinking or planning on taking thier own receiving blanket to the hospital? I know they give you one for the baby, but I've been thinking that I have some mighty cute ones and I may just take one of my own. Think that's a waste?

I never once used a receiving blanket with my daughter. In honesty I'm not sure I get why they're supposed to be so necessary?

So, obviously, I personally wouldn't take one. But I can see why you'd want to of course

I'm going to pack one or two - we aren't allowed to take home the hospital blankets, so I figured I'd have a nurse show me how to swaddle with blankets we own.

I'm taking one to bring him home in cause it matches his outfit, but I'll use the hospital ones while we're there

I never used receiving blankets with DD#1, so I won't bother taking them. I will, however, take swaddling blankets.

i am taking a thin blanket to cover the car seat for the walk from the hospital to the car and the walk from the car to the house. ( it is supposed to rain on monday. (that is when we should be getting out of the hospital. if everything goes as planed.))

i packed 2 because i couldn't decide which pattern i liked better... and i also packed a light blanket that matches the Lamaze brand outfit i'm taking her home in... nothing like an over packer!

i say bring your own and if you don't use it oh well, and if you do great!
