Is anyone else thinking or planning on taking thier own receiving blanket to the hospital? I know they give you one for the baby, but I've been thinking that I have some mighty cute ones and I may just take one of my own. Think that's a waste?
I'm going to pack one or two - we aren't allowed to take home the hospital blankets, so I figured I'd have a nurse show me how to swaddle with blankets we own.
i am taking a thin blanket to cover the car seat for the walk from the hospital to the car and the walk from the car to the house. ( it is supposed to rain on monday. (that is when we should be getting out of the hospital. if everything goes as planed.))
i packed 2 because i couldn't decide which pattern i liked better... and i also packed a light blanket that matches the Lamaze brand outfit i'm taking her home in... nothing like an over packer! i say bring your own and if you don't use it oh well, and if you do great!
Re: recieving blanket
I never once used a receiving blanket with my daughter. In honesty I'm not sure I get why they're supposed to be so necessary?
So, obviously, I personally wouldn't take one. But I can see why you'd want to of course
I may be totally wrong here - but I thought you used receiving blankets to swaddle?
I have one of these in my bag
And also one from the pack of these
Am I mixing the two up?
