Put an offer on a house

We found our dream house last night and put an offer on it.  Of course now we are both freaking out because of all the money we will be spending, and we are nervous about the monthly payments which are less then what we pay for rent but still since we don't really know what our expenses will look like when the girls arrive.  I'm sure we will be fine just first time buyer nerves!  I wish we only had to pay for one of the girls to go to day care :-)

    That is so exciting!!  Are you staying in VA?  We will be moving next month into our dream house.

    Make sure you have a great mortgage person who can show you a good faith estimate that comes within a few $.  We are doubling our current house size in this move and our mortgage will only be $300 more/month.  That and right now you should be able to get as low as 4 3/4% depending on your credit scores.

    Thank you ladies!  We are staying in VA, the Burke area though.  You're right, rates now are fantastic!  I've had my gmail open all day impatiently waiting to hear from the realtor.  I think the girls know I'm excited b/c they have been really active today!

    Good luck! We are doing the same thing today. Hey...the $ situation could be worse. I just transferred jobs and we still haven't sold our house in Atlanta. We are probably going to be paying 2 mortgages for a while. We've held off in an apartment for 2 months, but was have to get moving to have things ready for the babies!

    Congrats!   I'm glad you said Burke- we're shopping now and we've had 5 houses we wanted to see bought up before we got there!!  How long did you look?  We're focusing on Vienna and Falls Church and are having a heck of a time balancing schools, reasonable size and cost in this area!!
