We only have 2 short sleeve onesies in newborn size, everything else is 0-3 months. With our first I know we used newborn sizes for a very limited time, but should I go out and pickup a newborn outfit to wear home or do you think 0-3 months will fit ok?

Have you had a growth u/s or anything telling you about the size of your baby? I'm expected to have a bigger baby so i'm taking a cute 0-3 month outfit and a newborn onesie just incase the 0-3 month outfit eats her alive.
DH and I were both 8+ pound babies, so we're just going with the 0-3.
That is, assuming the growth u/s at the end of the month estimates he's on track or big, and not small.
This.
We only bought a 5-pack on NB onesies since he probably won't be in the size for long.

I'm bringing a NB outfit. Plus, remember babies tend to lost some weight from the time they are born to the time they leave the hospital.
If she comes out a little chunker, I'll have my mom or DH run home and grab a bigger outfit! We have 2 midnights at the hospital, so there is time.
This is a great idea, I think I will do the same!
Right now I just have a NB sized outfit, but may throw in a 0-3 month sized just in case - but she isn't predicted to be very big, so I think the newborn size will work just fine.
A friend of mine had a baby recently who was just around 7lbs. at birth and then lost some of the weight right after (down to the low - mid 6lb. range I believe) and they had to go out and get some preemie sized clothes because he was swimming in the newborn stuff. It all depends on the baby I guess.
0-3 if it is a bit big it's not going to hurt anything.
