My bf hasnt read the baby book I bought for him or any of the articles in the pregnancy magazines Id folded down for him. Im starting to feel like he just expects to show up at the hospital and go with the flow. I suggested he watch a birthing video with me but when I tried to find one on youtube I just couldnt bring myself to show him! Has your bf/ dh seen one??

Re: Anyones significant other seen a birthing video?
No, but I'm about to sit him down one day and force him to watch. My FI has not read any of the books, or articles, or anything... like most men, I think. But I just want him to know what is going to happen, and I think showing him a very explicit video might be the way to go.
I'm gonna make sure it's one that shows EVERY little detail too.
Same. ITA with the bold part too. We watched The Business of Being Born together and he has seen a few water birth videos online. We are planning a water birth, so those are really good for both of us to watch.
Dh said that the only birthing he wants to watch is his own child. But, we both read the book, A Child Is Born, which has a ton of pictures of every developmental stage, including birth. When we got to those pictures, he was horrified (as was I). He said right then and there, "Oh honey, I'm so sorry. Anything you need, any time of the day, just let me know." He's been very supportive and helpful, I think because he is keeping those pictures in mind.
No, he hasn't, but I have
It was not a pretty site! LOL...At least I don't have to watch it when I'm doing it!
No, he hasn't. But it doesn't concern me.
IMO, he's there for emotional support & to be present when his son is born -- I don't expect him to play any active role in the delivery other than holding my hand & telling me that I'm awesome.
::shrugs:: We've watched baby shows on Discovery Channel, which can be mildly graphic. He has the basic gist of it & that's all that matters to me.
